Water Parameters

Updated: Dec 17, 2022

Here at Aquarium Shrimp UK we keep our shrimp in different water parameters depending on type (neocaridina, caridina). However we believe that steady and constant water parameters are much more important than specific water parameters. We keep a range of shrimp from Taiwan Bee shrimp, Tiger shrimp, Cherry Shrimp, Sunkist shrimp and many more. Our water parameters for Neocaridina (Cherry Shrimp) are as follows:

TDS: 160-220 GH: 4 - 8 KH: 2-4 Ammonia: 0 Nitrate: 25> Nitrite: 0 Temp: 18-26 Substrate: Inert / GlasGarten Plants: floating plants and moss Miscellanious: Catappa Leaves, Alder Cones, bark Water Treatment: Seachem Prime When keeping Caridina Shrimp we would advise using re mineralised RO water as this is the best way of keeping parameters in check. However normal treated tap water will be fine with most shrimp. If you are unsure of whether our shrimp would adapt to your water parameters feel free to drop us an email using the contact us page.
